Optimising Fire Detection and Response Across a Multi-Building Campus Challenge Context On a large commercial campus with offices, plant rooms, data areas, and shared facilities, the existing fire alarm system had evolved piecemeal over time and no longer aligned with the site's risk profile. This created uncertainty over detection coverage, slowed emergency response, and exposed the client to regulatory, insurer, and operational risks. Challenge Overview The project team needed to implement a risk‑led, strategic fire detection solution that improved situational awareness, reduced response times, and provided auditable assurance to stakeholders. Identifying Key Issues Detector layouts were non‑strategic, response times varied between zones, limited integration with access control and building management systems reduced automated response capability, and facilities and security teams lacked clear visualisation or guidance for rapid decision-making.
